Afshan Molavi: The New Silk Road

Students were able to learn from Afshan Molavi about what he refers to as the “New Silk Road,” commerce between the Middle East and China that will, in his words, change “the geoeconomic and geopolitical landscape of the East, with serious ramifications for U.S. policy.” Molavi advocated a visionary foreign policy that seeks to use this trade as potentially moderating force in Middle East and Asian politics.
