The Junior Fellows enjoyed a nice evening in Houston last night, going to dinner at Bangkok Chef, followed by Come Fly Away, a musical featuring the music of Frank Sinatra.
We all tried various far at Bangkok Chef, and the food was very good. Our orders were diverse, but the dumplings and the Pad Thai were standouts, as was the Thom Kha Gai soup.
We then walked to the Hobby Center, where we watched Come Fly Away from some pretty good seats. The show was only 80 minutes long, without an intermission, and it was a lot of fun. Our group seemed to favor some of the jazz solos and the more kinetic numbers: That’s Life and New York, New York. The dancers were pretty amazing.
It was great to catch up with some alumni (Blake Roach, Cameron Goodman, Megan Bryant), members (Justin Beiser, Will Phillips), our advisors, and Ralph and Linda Pease.
We’ll be heading to another play this Summer. We have gone to the Summer Chills Series for the past four years, although the Alley hasn’t yet announced the schedule for that series yet. Either way, we’ll be seeing Noises Off in June, and we hope to see you there!
